Hi All, going "home" in may for the weekend, never been this early in the season before (going on the 12th) any ideas on how lively it will be and will everything be open? also weather> gutted the new road isnt open.. mountains are beautiful but dont do much for the stomach!

Hi Crazie, we have been in May every time apart from the last year when we went in September. The big differance we found was it was MORE lively in May as everyone seemed a bit tired by Sept. We can't wait, just four and a half weeks and we too will be "home". I smiled cos thats how I feel too. Enjoy (as if you couldn't)

Hi All. May is a wonderful time to visit - everywhere is fresh and green and wild flowers grow in abundance. We visited the 1st week of May last year, as we will again this, and the days were perfect but because Ovacik and Hisaronu are elevated the evenings were Chilly - with a capital C ! I understand that the evenings warmed up as the month went on but if you're travelling early in May I'd pack jeans, jacket and closed footware for the evenings just to be on the safe side.
