Can anyone recommend a S&F hotel on the outskirts of H. We've been going for years to a similar hotel, but its not opening this season. Looking for B&B with a nice pool and the sun until 7pm. many thanks L |

Hi, We have a beautiful apartment on a small and friendly complex in very quiet location, but just 5 minutes from Hisaronu High Street. What month are you thinking to travel because in May June September and October the apartment is just £250 for up to 4 people - cheaper than Hotels and much more room and comfort -and this cost includes cleaning aircon, and a safe. The ONLY extra is transfers which we can arrange in private air conditioned vehicle. Check out http:// www

Hi Val, thanks for the info. The apartment looks like one of the Nicholas Group builds which are always good. Can you give me an indication of where it is located? Nearest hotel/bar? |

this post has been edited 1 time(s) It certainly is Nicholas built - you can't beat them! Its Nicholas Gate and our pride and joy. The nearest hotels are the Marcan and Telmessoss. As you enter the High Street, from the roundabout, its the turning on the left (just where the barrier closes the road off at night)- about 50 yeards beyond the Marcan. We also have another gentler route to the village which comes out by the Mosque - literally 5 minutes and we take a really slow pace when we get to Turkey! As you recognised it as Nicholas built have you been looking at properties yourself? |

I would like to offer you Mountain Lodge Hotel ; A charming English pub and B&B lost in a faraway, little-known village in mountainous Lycia. Young Mel and Mick worked tooth and nail to build and run the place over the years. Then Mick left, and Mel was left alone to tackle it with her two school-age daughters. She runs the show with apparently inexhaustible energy and a lot of quick humour. Part of the day is spent by the poolside bar in chat and gossip (there is a large English expat community in the Fethiye area, and they often drop by). Otherwise, there are plenty of Lycian antiquities to see, and a vast snow-capped mountain in the background to explore on foot or muleback. For the night, there are regular rooms and apart units with kitchenettes; they are pleasantly and comfortably furnished. It is the sort of place where one drops in for a beer and ends up staying for a week. A short stroll up the hill is the great rock of Tlos, pockmarked with the carved tombs of the ancient Lycians, and crowned with the ruined stronghold of an 18th century robber baron. The ivy-covered carcass of a Roman bathhouse lies near the toppled theatre. They command a full view of almost all of western Lycia, and remain relatively undisturbed by tourist crowds.

Hi Val, thanks for the details. Its given us something to think about. We are not looking to buy ourselves, but know the area well, in fact we used to stay in a guesthouse on the spot where your property is built, and can still see a pine tree which has been left standing amongth the apartments so know how good the views are. I'll be in touch. and many thanks. |
