Not sure if this has come up before?but does anyone know if your pension is frozen if you move to turkey |

No your pension isn't frozen. Although, I think any increases in the state pension are frozen for Ex-Pats living outside of the EU. ( Someone else can probably give you more info on that. ) You can continue to have your pension paid into a UK bank and draw it out at ATMs or you can arrange for transfer to a Turkish bank. |

Just got this info from the horses mouth (overseas pension office), In turkey you still get the yearly increases on your pension.but no NHS cover, winter payments etc etc. |

If you maintain a UK address at a relative's or friend's you can still use the NHS. Who's going to tell your doctor that you live outside the UK ? |

I agree with you KKW, but surely if you maintain a uk address you could run into problems tax wise? |

If you're not earning money, you can't have tax problems. Of course it depends on whether or not your pension is taxed at source but I'm sure an IFA will give you info in this. There are a lot of advantages to maintaining a UK address. It's also needed if you intend keeping your UK driving licence, as the DVLC won't allow foreign addresses on UK licences. |
