It's a safe as they can make it. There have been a few fatal accidents over the years but that shouldn't put you off.
Most (if not all of them) were caused by inexperienced paragliders not obeying the strict safety measures.
If you go tandem (which I presume you're thinking of) then listen to and do whatever your pilot tells you and you'll have an unforgettable time.
If you can't face the prospect of jumping off the mountain you can always go on the microlights (based in Ovacik).

As I run a travel agency I had this chance once..5 years ago...There is no explanation you should try it at least once...The wiev is stunning...
